Tried to leave at 7, Left at 8.
I slept great until 4. Up at 6.
My luggage shrunk overnight. Really hard to fit everything back in in the morning.
Ate the groceries and bought last night for breakfast, yogurt and strawberries and grains I brought from home. And of course we forgot to put the nuts in the difficult.
20 minutes later we’re stopping for coffee to go.
Followed The route the guy at the hotel sent us on. He said it was more scenic Nixs that it wasn’t. Stop to meet pee at McDonald’s.
Got a stamp there too. Met up with Portencia from last night at the hostel. She told us we had to have a chocolate croissant there so we did .Back on the trail. Many pilgrims. Keep meeting friends from each moment we stopped. Met up with Allison from the decathlon store. We took a picture together to send her mother so she wouldn’t worry about her water.
Climb up behind a little church on the ocean with beautiful views. I only did safe photos. None of us balancing on the boulders thing too old for that.
P stop number 2 along the ocean at a restaurant. They didn’t seem to care if we went in to use them
Two bags of potato chips and a bomba de berlim later and wet from the waterfall of a water fountain we’re on our way again.
We walked by a prehistoric grave site but we couldn’t see the stones used through Roman times At prais De memoria along with the obelisk.
Ancient Stone fish tanks in the ground for salting the fish. And collecting salt from the ocean.
Next stop lunch and bathrooms. Bathroom needs given stopping times.
Steak lunch because it was too hard to order fish. It was by the kilo and very little wasn’t sharing with somebody. It was delicious though with great appetizers that they put on the table. Now we’re walking again on a beautiful boardwalk at the beach on the left and the wild flowers all around.
Crossed one section that was broken so at a sharp angle but we held on to the rope and used our pole and made it. The guy behind us just walked off, walked past it and back up again. Not too stupid are we
Another bathroom stop
A missed turn but saved by a Brazilian in a small camper van. Actually if I listened to Joana we wouldn’t have missed it. I read the map wrong she read the arrow right.
Finally arrive at Santana hotel and spa. I couldn’t even give my name at the desk but they asked if I was Sherrie? They said I was famous. We have three beautiful rooms for the six of us. Evany and Andre are now with us.
Went for a swim with Joana and Tina.. Great indoor pool and Jacuzzi. When I booked this hotel I had no idea it was going to be so perfect after today’s ridiculously long walk. 15.68 miles on one app, 17.33 on the other. Joana’s says 16.44 miles so we’ll take hers.. It’s in the middle.
The pool was a little cool to bring down swelling the the Jacuzzi for muscle massage.. I can barely walk. I asked at the front desk if I could use the luggage cart to get wheeled to my room but they refused me. Bummer.
